Kasey Renee

When Josh and I had only been married a few months and only in our house about a month, Joshs sister found the sweetest little black lab puppy laying in the middle of a highway.  She stopped and picked her up and within a few days she became known to us as Kasey Renee.  She was my baby.  It was before I had my own children and I loved her just as much as if she was my child.  I can still remember the first night she spent with us.  She whined at my bed until I picked her up and slept wrapped near my chest.  To say I loved this dog is a huge understatement.

She was there when I brought Jace home from the hospital and although a bit jealous at first she was so good to him.  She was there when we brought Rylan home, she had gotten use to the routine by then.  Over the years she had her tail pulled, bones shoved in her mouth and rode on many, many times.  Never once did she even attempt to bite at the boys, they were her boys too.  She endured vet visits (which she hated!), new puppies and growing old.  She soon learned she couldn't go hunting with Josh anymore, or jump in the back of the pick-up, it was to hard on her. When she turned 14 in October I knew the time was getting close, the mere thought of it was just to hard to handle.

On November 7th, I came home from class and it was obvious she had had a stroke.  She couldn't walk and was acting extremely afraid.  I knew it was time.  I had said from day one I would never let her suffer physically or mentally.  She was doing both.  I called the vet and asked them to come to our home.  I laid her on her bed and I held her in my arms as she took her final breath.  It was very peaceful, much more peaceful then I had imagined.   She laid in the sunshine which was her very favorite place to be and we could hear the kids playing at recess across the street.  I cried a lot, I still cry.  I miss her every single day.  She loved us so unconditionally and asked for so little in return.  For 14 years, she just made our lives better.

Rest in peace old friend.  I will see you again some day.

Last week we went to Coeur D'Alene to visit Silverwood theme park.  I have never been farther North in Idaho then Lewiston so it was so fun to get to see that part of Idaho.  It was absolutely gorgeous...like I could move there gorgeous!

We stopped and stayed in Pendleton on our way there, we went and did the Underground tour.  Had a blast but it was a bit too adult for the boys.

I chose not to ride this one, I really don't like the "free-fall" feeling.

But I thought this one was a great idea??  200 feet of free-fall on After Shock....great idea!

Don't let this picture of Ry fool you, he did not ride After Shock, he did not come anywhere near riding After Shock.  Ry has very strong opinions about roller coasters, he hates them!

He loved the train though, nice and easy....nothing to fast!

We also got to do a pirate cruise...the boys thought that was pretty awesome!  Jace is to old to take a picture with the pirates. :(

All in all we had such a good time.  I cannot wait to get back there and spend some more time exploring Coeur D'Alene.

Summertime

We are officially on summer break...well, we have been for almost a month now. Hopefully, my blog will let me upload pictures now and I can get back to blogging.

Here is a great picture of Jace, hanging out during summer!

Halloween 2012

Meet Norm and Gertie... they are the cutest old couple!!

Rylan had so many compliments on his costume I lost count.  Ry has always been a bit of an old soul, wise beyond his years... so this really fit him!

At some point...Granny became quite creepy!

Rolex was dressed as a chicken!

Grandma was pretending to be really old Grandma.

Rodeo and Chaps

One thing Jace has done alot of this summer is rodeo'ed.  Today was not such a good day for him, he got hurt before he ever even left the chute.  The dang steer would not cooperate with him one bit.

Jace really needed some chaps so my mom and dad got him a pair.  We picked them up today and are thrilled with the way they turned out.  We are hoping to get at least 3 years out of them!!

Since Jace placed 1st in the Emmett rodeo he qualified for the ICA Finals in a couple of weeks.  We are so excited he gets to experience this!!
