Rylan turns 3!!!

This was Rileys big birthday weekend extravaganzza... starting on Friday when we went to Chuck E. Cheese's and The Discovery Center... forgot my dang camera. We had so much fun... he got a birthday hat from Chuck E Cheese's and wore it all day long, he was so proud!

On Saturday we went to lunch with my family and then had a HUGE BBQ that afternoon... the weather was perfect!!! Rylan LOVES Mickey Mouse.. so his whole theme was Mickey... which was easy enough to do... I just did red, black and white everything.

On Sunday it was his actual birthday... but i think by this point he was quite tired of being called the birthday boy and he spent 90% of the day with Papa and Grandma while his dad helped put up a a carport.

We had such a great weekend! I cannot believe my baby is turning 3! When I look at him I still see baby... which he gets quite aggravated with because he is becoming a big boy but I wonder if there will ever be a point when I don't look at him and see "my baby"!

Quitting all my bad habits

I am trying so hard to become a better, healthier person! I quit smoking over 2 months ago, have started eating right, work out now 4-5 times a week, quit drinking sooo much pop (yes, I still have one diet a day and I am not giving that up) and I have quit chewing my nails. Now this is HUGE for me... I have chewed my nails when i am bored or nervous ever since I can remember. My mom chewed hers, my grandma chewed hers and my son chews his... what can I say I come by it honestly! I think this has been almost harder then quitting smoking.. mainly because I chew my nails without even realizing i am doing it. So I have promised myself that here in a couple weeks I will finally get super pretty nails put on if I can hold out that long and not chew them off!

Easter weekend

We had such a great weekend! We had one child in Nevada with left us with our baby for the whole weekend. That kid is a different child when his brother isn't here to boss him around.

On Friday evening we went to eat and grocery shopping.... Riley was so tuckered out when we got home I just couldn't help capturing this pic of him sleeping.... I love to watch my boys sleep, sometimes I will just sit by there bed and watch them sleep for along time.

Sat.. we woke up and headed off to the Easter egg hunt... Riley did pretty well but had his eye on an egg way out in the outfield and missed about 20 eggs running to the one he wanted. We deceided that afternoon it was so beautiful to go fishing.... now I love to fish as long as I am catching something.. otherwise it is sooooo boring for me. Riley agreed.. he threw his pole in once and within 5 minutes was bored to death. Luckily there was a slide nearby so we went sliding for awhile while dad fished. We then went home and BBQ's hamburgers and I fried up the fish Josh caught.

On Sunday we got up and saw the Easter bunny had been there... then headed to my mom and dads for Easter breakfast... we decided to do a family picture and I have not laughed like that in awhile. My mom really wanted her cat to be in the pic.. but that cat had other ideas!

That afternoon we had dinner with Joshs sister and brother and there families. It was just a really good weekend! Oh and Jace had a great time in NV.

Update....

Well it looks like Katey is going to make it... YAY!! She has alot more energy and is finally starting to eat and drink... although she has lost alot of weight and is still very weak compared to normal she is getting better. I am giving her injections to keep her from gettign nausea and vomiting and that seems to be helping alot. I am still praying for her as we are not 100% out of the clear but I really think she is gonna make it.

On another note... my oldest left for Nevada at 5:30 am this morning and I already miss him like crazy! He is going with his aunt and uncle to visit his other aunt and uncle and cousins and he is super excited... it is going to be weird though only having once child for Easter but I know he will have a great time!

Some sad news...

Yesterday evening I noticed my puppy (Katey) was acting funny, by 8:00 pm she was vomiting every 30 minutes. I figured she had gotten in the neighbors trash and ate some rotten food. By 1:00 am this morning I had to put her out in her kennel because she was vomiting so often. After I got home from work today I let her out of her kennel and usually we have to run the other direction because she is so excited to see us someone ends us getting hurt... today she just slowly walked to the couch with her head down and laid down refusing to get up. I knew something was seriously wrong. I called my bro-in-law who raises dogs and he said go with your gut but if it was my dog I would get her seen ASAP. I called the vets office and they said something sounds very wrong... you should bring her in. They also told me if you bring her in now it will be an after hours office call ($120.00) and we could see her in the morning but we don't recommend you wait. Going with my gut I bit the financial bullet and took her in. The vet came in and took one look at her and said "wow, this is one sick dog". He said she is extremely dehydrated and has a high fever. He then did a rectal exam and out came Blood. He took one look at me and said she has parvo.... WHAT??? She has had all her vaccines...and we were very diligent on getting them at the recommended times. He went ahead and took a parvo test and sure enough... she tested positive for parvo. :(

We are giving her IV's and enough medicine for 10 people... praying that she will pull through. He said there is no cure and only about 60% of puppies infected with this virus live and then of those that live most of them remain unhealthy for the rest of there life. He told me I will know by Thursday afternoon whether or not she will live. She can't even really get off the couch she is so weak. I will continue to pray that she pulls through.... afterall she is a very loved member of our family.

What a busy weekend....

We had such a busy weekend last weekend. On Friday night we colored 5 dozen Easter eggs, yes 5 dozen. The boys had so much fun... we always make a big deal out of coloring eggs... we had pizza and pretty much the whole family came out to color eggs.

On Sat. we went over to town fairly early and went to Home Depot and finally got a price on what we are looking at to remodel our house.... we are completely gutting the bathroom and kitchen and replacing all the floors. I was pleasantly surprised on the cost :).

After that we had a birthday party for my niece at the rollerskating rink, I love to rollerskate. Then dinner at Orphan Annies.

On Sunday we went back over to town for another birthday party at The Olive Garden (my fav.). What a weekend!!!
