Christmas 2008

We had a great Christmas this year!!

Rylans Christmas Program

On Dec. 19th Rylan had his preschool Christmas program. These kids are so cute and some of them really belt out the songs.

Fun in the snow

We finally got enough snow for the boys to go play and build a snowman. Both boys have been sick so they had to bundle up to go out. I think it was like 28 degrees out today but it felt so warm after the 12 degree weather we had last week.

This is their snowman and Jace on the ground attempting to make a snow angel.

Apparently playing in the snow wipes you out... Ry came in and refused to take off his snow clothes and after starting dinner I came back into the living room to see this.

Yep... he is sound asleep on the living room floor in full snow gear.

Check out this reindeer!

Isn't this the cutest reindeer ever?!!

The Parade

Homedale has an annual Christmas parade and this year it was so cold it was miserable. But that didn't stop the kids from standing out and getting candy!

There was even a camel!

Oh Christmas Tree....

Every year we get a real tree.... I had a fake one for awhile and really did not like it. It is just not the same... waking up in the morning to no smell.

Usually my husbands family goes up to the mtns. and cuts down a tree... I do not go on this little adventure. I hate the cold.... but my SIL always takes my kids. This year she was not going so we decided to go to Jackpot that weekend while the boys stayed with my parents. One of Joshs brothers was going so he got us a tree.

The boys love to decorate it... there is really no rhyme or reason to the decorating. We have lots of ornaments that the kids have made and of course I buy them a new ornament every year based on what they are interested in at that time.

It was alot of fun letting the kids decorate it and brought back alot of memories when I was younger and my parents let me and my brother have at the tree.

It's a girl!!

Brooke Marie Love
Dec. 3rd, 11:46 pm
7lbs 4oz. 20 1/2 "

What was so amazing about this birth was the fact that Brookes parents never really thought she was possible. They went through alot of fertility treatments and ended up doing invitro to get pregnant. I really felt quite emotional over there last night and just looking at her dad holding her was an amazing experience. He was the proudest daddy in the world!!

What I am thankful for

I figured since it was Thanksgiving this week I would put down a few things I am thankful for.... I really am a very grateful person so this is just a small list of some of the most important.

* 2 beautiful, healthy kids

* a wonderful supportive husband

* a roof over our head and food to eat

* awesome friends and family

* gas prices!!!

* 2 good and fun dogs

* good books

* I just paid off all my medical bills!!!

* several vehicles to choose from (lol)

* I finished my Christmas shopping

I can think of so many more but this list could go on forever! I feel so blessed that I have such a wonderful life.

Check out what I got!!!

I went and got the mail today and was very surpirsed to have a package waiting for me!! I love getting any kind of mail but this was really exciting cuz it was quite a large box.

This is what was inside!! I was so excited. It is from my Aunt Mae and she has been reading my blog and seeing that me and the boys have been doing crafts so she sent me these!! This is really great because I would never buy something like this for myself. I am so excited to use these!!!!

An early Christmas present!!

So on Saturday Josh and I went and finished up our Christmas shopping. We got pretty much everything done with the exception of a few stocking stuffers. We also bought something (ok I bought something) just for me... well not really just for me since everyone in the family can use it and are using it!

It's a Nintendo Wii!! It is so much fun and quite a work out... I could barely get out of bed this morning I was so sore... even Jace has been complaining that his muscles hurt today. Hopefully next month I will be buying the Wii Fitness and start working out... although the tennis and baseball gives you plenty a work out in itself!!

I can't believe he is 6!!

On Thursday Jace turned 6. I really can't believe it, I have no idea where the last 6 years went. I always try to make their birthdays extra special... because it is such a special day for me.

On Thursday Jace opened his presents and then headed to school.

After he got home from school Josh took the afternoon off and we went and spent some time at Chuck E. Cheese. We had alot of fun!

After we got back we went out to Papa and Grandmas and he got to open more presents.

Today was his Birthday party... he was so sick yesterday I wasn't sure the party was gonna go on but he woke up this morning feeling alot better. We went bowling and had such a good time!

A very uneventful week

I really don't have to much to post about. Jace has been sick since last Friday... I took him to the Dr. on Monday cuz he had a fever that would just not break. He had strep throat. I have been so worried that me and Ry had been exposed to it that all 3 of us pretty much spent the whole week indoors. Today it finally feels like everything is back to normal and so far no signs of strp for the rest of us... thank the Lord!!

I have been reading the best books ever since I have been stuck inside. I am a huge reader... I love to read and these are the best books I have ever read!! I am so addicted to them I am sad that I am finally reading the 4th and final book in the series. It took me less then a week to read the other 3 (these are 600 page books)... I literally could not put them down. I can't quit thinking about the story either... I love when books do that to me. I am so excited the movie to the 1st book is coming out next week. I am giving the 1st book to my SIL to read and then taking her to the movie with me!!! Thank the Lord for good books!!!!!!

If you are looking for an aweome book to read: see above. I have to warn you though they are young adult (more teenage) and about vampires. YES VAmpires.... I more then anyone hate things about vampires and werewolves and aliens and all those kinds of things. I never thought in a million years I would even remotely like this book but my friend Lex recommeneded it to me and let me borrow hers.... I am so glad I did! Trsut me... you will never be the same after reading these books. There is an amazing love story in them.

Josh is 30

Today is Joshs 30th birthday. I really can't believe that he is 30.... seems like just yesterday we were 15!!! Below are some things that I love about Josh....

- We were 11 the first time we met and I knew he was the one.

- He was/is my first true love

- He acts on his emotions... which can be good and bad

- He stood by me through an extremely difficult time in my life (maybe harder for him then me) and refused to give up on me. I owe my life to his stubborness.

- He is so close to his family... all his family. He knows how important family is.

- He gave me 2 beautiful sons.

- I don't believe in soul mates... but I believe Josh is the closest thing to that for me.

- He is the most low maintenace person I have ever met... he never expects anything.

So Happy Birthday Josh!!! I Love you.

One final weekend without Josh

Yesterday I decided to take the boys out and do something fun. We went and saw Madagascar 2... it was really cute. I even took my camera but it was dead when I went to turn it on... darnit!
It was really good to get out of the house and go do something fun!

Today Jace woke up really really sick... I am not sure what is going on with him but he has a pretty high fever and says it hurts really bad to swallow... I suppose I will be taking him into the doctor in the next day or so if he doesn't start getting better. I love that Josh is able to get the time to go hunting because I know how much he enjoys it but man I hate going through all this stuff alone... it is not fun. At least I have an awesome book to read while we spend the rest of the weekend couped up in the house!!

PT conferences

Today I had PT conferences for the 1st time... ever! I was a little nervous as I was not sure what to expect. Especially since it is Jace... now I love him with everything I have in me but he can be a handful sometimes. His teacher pulled out a little file and started going over things.

He is doing well actually above grade level in math but a little lower in English. Boy he is his fathers son! I am horrible at math (yes I am a bookkeeper and horrible at math) but have always excelled in English... to the point I can't even read an email with out proof reading it! She said besides occasionally having to tell him to quit talking he is a great student. She said he is very likable and seems to get along with everyone. I was happy to hear he was doing so well.

Craft Day - Fall Handprint wreaths

These were so much fun to make but took a long time to cut out all the leaves and handprints. The boys really liked this one!

I really love craft day... the boys get so into it... it is so much fun!!

Such a cute little guy

Ry has such an imagination... he loves to tell stories. Usually "totally out there" stories. Sometimes I wonder where in the world he comes up with his stories.

The pic below is him telling me a story about how one day he fell and broke his leg and they were gonna cut it off but decided not to. He gets so into his stories.

He also loves to help around the house... folding clothes, cleaning anything he can clean... usually with large amounts of water and his favorite is to do the dishes. I try to watch which dishes he is doing since I have to redo them but usually I can just look at them and know.

Halloween 2008

Today Josh left to go hunting for 10 days... yes 10! I am not sure yet how I feel about this... I mean I am really happy for him he gets to do this but that also means no break for me at all for 10 days. I have lots of things planned out to keep me and the boys busy.

When I got up this morning Josh had left me a letter... this is HUGE for Josh. He never does things like this... it made my day, made my month... heck it made my year!!! It was real simple and had a little part for the boys but I was so happy he did that.

Jace is off to school in his Batman costume... he has a party this morning which I have volunteered to help out at. Then this afternoon my SIL and I are taking the kids around town to the safe and sane trick or treating and then this evening it is just to grandparents and friends houses. I love Halloween... mainly because the boys love it so much, but it is always a really good day!

The boys and my super cute nephew (or super cute peanut).

One of my favorite times of the day!

This really isn't my favorite part of the day but it is high on the list! And not just because they are finally quiet and I have some me time but because I am reminded how precious they are. I really do know that they are gifts from god and I try not to forget that... but sometimes it is hard!

I love to watch them sleep... I can go sit on there floor and just watch them sleep. They never know I do it but I do it every night and then kiss them on the forehead. I sure do love these little guys and I have no idea what I would do without them ( I really can't remember what it was like before I had them... must have been pretty boring!).

Craft Day

I have decided to start a craft day with the boys 1 time a week. We are here at the house so much we really needed something creative to do with our time. Now let me start by saying this is NOT easy for me... I am the least crafty person you will ever meet. SERIOUSLLY!!! Luckily there is a thing called the internet... with lots of neat crafty ideas.

Now the 2 we did today I did actually do on my own... no help from the internet. BUT... they were the simplest things in the world. I really really wish I was more creative and crafty!

Even Uncle Jake came by and did crafts with us!!

And... the finished product.

I just noticed in the pic above it looks like Jake has a cigarette in his mouth... it is not! It is a sucker.

Ry's Halloween party

Today Ry had his preschool Halloween party... those kids are so darn cute!!! This year she did more games and prizes like pumpkins, pencils and granola bars. I thought that was so great... they get so much candy as it is.

This pic below is a pic of Rylan and his friend Jeffrey.... Jeffrey and Rylan started daycare together when they were about 9 months old and they have been best friends ever since. When they were still in daycare together they would eat together, sleep together and play together. Jeffrey started calling Rylan... Riley Roo.

This is a pic of another one of Rylans good friends Cameron... Cameron is the son of Joshs best friend Randy. Randy and Josh have been best friends since they were in 4th grade. It is really cool that Rylan and Cameron are only 2 months apart.
